Bridges in Harrisburg

Harrisburg, PA

Halloween in Hell, Mich

Catch up

After a nasty cold, I ran4 miles 10-23,4 miles 10-24 on trail,5 miles 10-28 with club in dark and 5 deer ran in front of me.
10-31 I had to do the Run Thru Hell 10k to raise money to buy a wheelchair accessible van for Delores Hensley. The best costume was a guy in just a bathing suit and 6 medals - Michael Phelps, on a cold day.
11-6 I ran 3 miles on the trail.
Sunday, 11-7 I drove David and Holly to Independence Oaks for the Cardboard Classic. We finished 5/5 in team score on cold clear day.
Sat., 11-16 I drove to Harrisburg, PA to meet the Cardiac Athletes. We donated a defibulator to the local fire Dept. and Sunday I ran 5 miles with Don from Minn. who I've coached. We were joined by Jackie Brown from Washinton, Mich - lives 5 miles away and we see her at races and the park. Always behave, you don't know who you will run into.
I've taken a rest period since.

Crim

I went up to Flint Friday to sign up for the 10 mile race. had a blowout on the xway and changed tire. Stripped lug - broke off. Crowded expo. Got deal for new shoes from Saucony rep.
Got up early and drove to favorite parking spot. Record crowd of over 10,000 for 10 mile race. Kenyans there as well as US men championship. Lined up, National anthem sung and off. Saw women from YPOM and ran well.@1:46. Hills trashed my legs.
After race, picked up pizza and pop and sat down at a table across from Jim! Watched DJ start "Born in the USA" and hand out US flags - lots of flags waving during song and no Tea Party in sight. Really cool!
Sun, 64 to 80.
